Hardware Requirements Create Restrictions
It seems unlikely that Google will bring this feature to older devices via a software update. The statement in the system codes that “the device must have hardware lights” proves that Pixel Glow requires a specific hardware infrastructure. However, there is a confusing point in the leak world. In the leaked CAD render images of current Pixel 11 prototypes, no clear trace of hardware for an LED system is found on the back panel.
